Online Branding vs. Market Share

Not One In The Same

At least in the case of online music, dominant market share does not necessarily translate to top of mind brand awareness. Although iTunes is far and away the most popular download service in business, Napster is a more recognized name according to a resent study on internet branding.

 

Of those polled 79 percent recognize the Napster name while only 57 percent recognize iTunes.
