Africa was wonderful - I had a spectacular time and I have some amazing photographs I will post here and on Flickr.
But it is such a relief to have a reliable always-on broadband connection so I can stay in touch and actually get some work done.
The next time I go (Feb 07) I shall get a 3G card the second I arrive and so not be dependent on hotel connections or other people's dial up.
I met with Louise Marsland, the editor of Biz-community, for lunch at the very "in" business meeting place - the Park Hyatt in Rosebank. It was refreshing to see so many business people working on their laptops with 3G cards there.
I guess it is just a case of getting organized. We did choose the Winchester Mansions Hotel (superb venue) because they said they had wireless, but it did not work out at all.
Biz community is very keen to implement RSS Feeds on their site. If they do, they will be the first online publisher to do so in SA
