Why Travel Sites Need SEO PR

General search #1 prompt for online travel purchases

General search engines remain the most important media prompt among online travel researchers, at 17 percent, finds Jupiter Research  their "US Travel Consumer Survey, 2006."

Despite garnering extensive media attention during the past year, travel meta search engines have not yet attracted a significant proportion of online travel buyers. Only four percent of online travelers say a travel search engine impelled them to plan or purchase their most recent trip.

So if you want more of that 17 percent coming your way, implement a content syndication campaign so that you can dominate the search results for your keywords in the general search engines.

My session at SES San Jose on August 8 at 1 pm explains how to use online PR and news search as a major factor in this strategy.
