Online News Still Dominated By Yahoo News

More than half (54 percent) of all U.S. Internet users visited sites in the General News category in June 2006.

The survey also showed that those who go online for general news are more affluent, making them a good audience for pre purchase information. 

Press releases recently became the number one source of information for people in business, bumping trade journals into second place.  With the right optimization and distribution method you can get your releases highly ranked in sites like Yahoo News and AOL News - both ranked in the top 10 global news sites,

Note that Google News doesn't show up in the top 10 for the US or globally.  Optimize your website for Google, but optimize your press releases for Yahoo.
