PRSA Conference Workshop

PR professionals show strong interest in Internet marketing strategy

The PRSA Conference was well attended.  Over  500 PR practitioners gathered at the HIlton Towers in New York City.

Although the number of professional development workshops  in each time slot spread the attendees thin in most workshops, I had standing room only in my Internet Marketing Strategy session on Tuesday morning.

It seems Internet marketing strategy is a hot button for this group. The room was packed.

The two powerpoint presentations will be up on my website in a day or so now that I am back in LA.

It was interesting to speak with so many PR people and hear their concerns about web strategies.

The recent OneUp Web study showed that less than half of the big companies have done any optimization on their websites.

I have been taking a look at the sites of those who attended my workshop and the figure is way less than half.

"In order to create the largest return on investment, large companies need to optimize their websites both for their own brand names and for the generic, high-traffic keywords and keyword phrases relevant to their sites. Otherwise, they are letting tons of online business just slip away."   SEO Papers
