Tracking Organic SEO Benefits

A site entering Google's top natural SERP for the first time can expect an exponential increase in traffic and double the number of conversions

Business owners and marketing people know that unless their site shows up in the first page of a search result they will not get traffic and conversions.

CMOs spend time at conferences listening to experts expound the virtues of page one search results.  Search engine marketing attracts a big chunk of the marketing budget.

But until now there were no hard figures to back up this instinctive knowledge.

A new study from One Up Web shows that in the first month a site appears on Google's first SERP, its conversion rates rises 142 percent. The second month, conversion rates nearly doubled (194 percent) compared to the month prior to entering the top SERP.

In terms of unique visitors, the average site appearing in Google's top natural SERP could expect a 337 percent increase in traffic in its first month and a 627 percent increase in the second month.
