Organic Search Listings Shown to Create Superior Online Branding Effects

Users prefer organic to sponsored listings by five to one

The trend for internet marketing is increasing with a growth rate of 33.7 percent projected for U.S. Recent studies document the positive role search plays on internet branding.

Search marketing is being touted by some to be “the greatest DM (direct marketing) medium to ever hit the advertising scene.”

I would argue that true search marketing needs to be organic and conducted as a PR strategy.  After all an organic listing by definition is not an advertisement and I’ll take five to one odds any day of the week when it comes to online branding.
