RSS, Blogs, Wikis and how they apply to organizational communication

IABC has put together a good resource on this new technology

I met the IABC folk at the Media Relations 2005 conference and they asked me to contribute to the May edition of CW Bulletin.

It's all about RSS, blogs, wikis, and podcasts - and their relevance to organizational communicators.

CW Bulletin is an online supplement to Communication World magazine which features  articles on communication issues, trend analysis and helpful resources for IABC members.

The features are  written by Tudor Williams Debbie Weil, Dan Forbush,  Pete Blackshaw (who was on the Media Relations Panel with me) and Neville Hobson.

These are the article titles:

  • Blogs, Wikis and Podcasts: new toys or tactics for new challenges?
  • Seven Tips to Writing an Effective Blog
    How Blogs and Wikis Differ
  • Podcasting: Adding an Informal Touch to Organizational Communication
  • RSS, Search Engine Visibility and Brand Perception  (my article)
  • Communication in the News: Should Businesses Embrace the Blogging Phenomenon?

Here's what Neville had to say about the CW articles:

It's a terrific collection of knowledge and thinking that I am sure you will find of tremendous value if you want to get a clear look at all of these new communication tools and channels from a business and communication point of view.

Well worth the membership to get this kind of data.
