Viva broadband

Africa was wonderful - I had a spectacular time and I have some amazing photographs  I will post here and on Flickr. But it is such a relief to have a reliable always-on broadband connection so I can stay in touch and actually get some work done. The next time I go (Feb 07)  I shall get a 3G card the second I arrive and so not be dependent on hotel connections or other people's dial up. I met with Louise Marsland, the editor of Biz-community, for lunch at the very "in" business meeting place - the Park Hyatt in Rosebank.  It was refreshing to see so many business people working on their laptops with 3G cards there. I guess it is just a case of getting organized.  We did choose the Winchester Mansions Hotel (superb venue) because they said they had wireless, but it did not work out at all.
